Emily West
2nd Place in America's Got Talent
Emily West’s dream is to tell stories through song. After moving to Nashville at 18, she enjoyed some success in the music industry. In search of a clean slate, she packed a bag for New York City. She was looking for a do-over, an opportunity to reinvent herself. She found her home in the clubs and theaters of Manhattan where she transfixed audiences with her one-woman show.
Emily West is a musical maverick in the masquerade of pin-up perfection. Musically captivating and innovative, she knows she has been a hard case for the industry to define. “I’m a Jessica Rabbit/Tom Waits kinda-something. I love hearing beautiful melodies telling me horrible things. I wear my heart on my sleeve. Judy, Barbara, Patsy, Rufus Wainwright, Antony & the Johnson’s. I love to interpret a song. I love to sing stories.”
Earlier this year, she made the decision to try out for America’s Got Talent. “I thought maybe if I audition in front of the world, I could save time and see where it takes me. “ It was a wise decision. West excelled on the National stage and came in second in the renowned competition- a result she hopes will allow her to play to the breadth of audience she’s always wanted, and to take them with her on this exciting journey.
Emily is currently in the studio recording her new album.
