The Mello-Kings were formed in 1956 at a high school in Mount Vernon N.Y. under the guidance of manager Dick Levister. Originally named the Mellotones, the group was signed to the Herald label. The record Tonite Tonite ran for ten weeks on the US pop charts and along with Earth Angel and In The Still Of The Night, is voted one of the top 3 tunes of the era. The group appeared in revival shows in the late 1960s and early 1970s before performing exclusively at private corporate events. Today, the Mello Kings legacy continues with the very best performers in the business. Today’s group will be under the guidance of founding member Jerry Scholl and will continue with the same sound and energy as it did in the very beginning. They can perform up to a 60 minute show of the very best Doowop songs ever recorded. Book The Mello-Kings for your party or event today!
